ViolinByChristine FAQs: Your Soundtrack to Happily Ever After
Congratulations on your engagement! We’re thrilled you’re considering Christine’s enchanting violin to soundtrack your special day. As you orchestrate your dream wedding day, the details dance in your mind. One particularly beautiful note? Live music, woven into your ceremony and celebration, creating a soundtrack as timeless as your love story. Here are some questions brides often ask to help you plan your musical magic:
For many years, brides would secure a date 7 months or less. Now I am seeing brides securing their dates a year or more out! If I am available, I will secure a date with you any time you are ready.
If your wedding is within a 30 mile radius, I do not add a travel fee. I try to stay within an hour or so of travel but sometimes there are exceptions. If the venue is out of range, I may still go ahead and book it once we have that conversation and negotiate a travel fee.
Once I receive an inquiry, we have a discussion about your desires for your wedding musically and the options I have available. I will give you a quote that meets your needs. If you ask to secure the date, I send over a contract for you to sign and send back with a 100.00 deposit.
Once you ask to secure the date, I send over a contract. After securing the date, I will not offer that date to any other inquiries. In return, the contract states that the deposit is non-refundable.
Often, when a wedding is booked a year or more out, the time or date may need to be changed. I am fine with changing the time or date as long as there is not a conflict with another event.
Absolutely! When the guests are seated for the ceremony, they are typically on the quiet side. . . . whether 12 guests or 200! Solo violin fills the area just fine. If I continue for the cocktail hour, I can add an instrument and also go wireless for more volume as the crowd will get more relaxed and louder.
I have not made a list of songs because it tends to be overwhelming. I suggest that you keep a list of songs you like over time. We will have a meeting to go over your final song selections about 2 months out. Once I get an idea of the style you like, I can suggest songs that will appeal to you. Because I am able to play all songs by heart, I will be able to time the songs as the wedding party enters and recesses.
I will not need to attend the rehearsal. As your wedding date approaches, we will have an hour meeting where we will make all the final song selections and go over other details of the ceremony together. That serves as my rehearsal. I will know who is coming down the aisle and to what song. The day of the wedding, all I need is a signal from the planner!
That is a good question. I let each bride know that I work my life around my weddings and have been very fortunate to not encounter an emergency. If anything should happen, the DJ, band or other musician there for the cocktail hour or reception should always at least know what songs were chosen for the ceremony. That would be the easiest way fill in if necessary.
